In addition to the Veterans Bill, Gov. Rick Scott signed 46 other bills into law as June ended. A bill making it more difficult for mentally ill people to purchase handguns got the most attention, but the governor also signed business-oriented bills strengthening Florida’s arbitration process and creates new penalties for filing fraudulent liens against properties.
Also 150 new Florida laws took effect July 1. Among the ones notable for businesses are bills to enhance the state’s high school education system and another that enhances landlords rights in dealing with tenants who are in violation of their leases.
