Orlando Rising in Technology

The passion found in Orlando’s tech community is contagious. Just ask Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs and University of Central Florida President John Hitt. They, along with many other civic and corporate leaders, have embraced the city’s emerging technology cluster and its myriad of plans, possibilities and potential.

Orlando Rising, a 35-minute documentary, premiered Feb. 18 at Full Sail University. The visionary behind the film: entrepreneur David Glass, publisher of the Florida Technology Journal.

His labor of love, is designed to educate people around the country and across the globe as to what is happening in Orlando’s $14 billion creative technology industry. Working with Filmscape Productions, some of the companies and projects Glass featured are Creative Village, Lake Nona Medical City and EA Sports.

“We are so excited to showcase our technology industry to the world — from entrepreneurs and startups to grassroots efforts to established brands. Orlando is the national and global hub for digital media and the world leader in simulation,” says Glass.

Another project Glass is spearheading, OrlandoiX, will be held in October 2015. The five-day international digital festival is expected to attract tens of thousands of technologists to The City Beautiful.
