Combining the Tampa and Orlando MSAs could create the 10th largest market in the world.
For sometime officials have discussed their desire for more transportation projects and, earlier this month, the Tampa Bay Regional Transportation Summit facilitated such conversation.
State transportation executives gathered at the Tampa International Airport (TPA) to discuss further development initiatives in the region. The Summit featured words from county officials, business leaders and a welcome video by U.S. Rep. John Mica.
Attendees also heard from those with local transportation projects already in process. TPA CEO Joe Lopano presented an overview of the airport’s Master Plan Update, which will bring a people mover connecting the main terminal to a consolidated rental car center with transit connections. The optimism and positivity that surfaced with the Summit’s completion is just the right momentum the region needs for these projects to see fruition.
