Florida’s Space Coast, a key player for human space exploration

In an editorial by Lynda Weatherman, president and CEO of the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast and the president of Space Florida, Frank DiBello, they confirmed the region’s strong position to foster advancements in human space exploration.

The Orion spacecraft and the Space Launch System (SLS) programs are not only growing the Space Coast’s economy but are also ensuring a promising future for the Kennedy Space Center for the next generation of space exploration. The programs will help “foster a new era of technological development and discovery in space with capabilities to support human missions to the moon, asteroids and beyond.”

The success of these programs will once again validate the importance of research and exploration, and reassert America as the leader in space exploration, with Florida’s Space Coast at the center.
