Enterprise Florida led Florida companies to the Dubai Airshow to set a strong base for the state’s aviation sectors
Enterprise Florida, Inc. (EFI) ended 2013 with a strong economic announcement. EFI, the principal economic development organization for the state of Florida, announced their trip to the Dubai Airshow resulted in more than $67 million in expected sales for 11 Florida businesses, three of which hail from the Florida Super Region.
The Middle East is a top emerging aviation/aerospace market, and the Dubai Airshow is currently the fastest growing airshow in the world. Florida manufacturers, training service providers, MROs and engineering firms can benefit tremendously from attending the event, given the extensive opportunities available. Thanks to EFI, Florida was the only U.S. state represented at the international event.
Last year, close to one-sixth of the state’s economic output came from international trade and foreign-direct investments, which supports approximately 1 million jobs in Florida.
“Part of our mission is to promote our target sectors all over the world, and shows like this allow Florida companies in those sectors to grow through export sales. We want to help them continue their success.” EFI President & CEO Gray Swoope said in a statement. After the state’s victory in Dubai, it’s clear the EFI is one step closer to making this mission a reality.
